About the Farm
Carnes Crossroads, an award-winning agrihood community of more than 3,600 homes in Goose Creek, South Carolina, is seeking a dedicated, full-time Agrihood Farmer. The farmers are hired by CCMC, the company that manages the Property Owners Association (POA) and Farm, and work in conjunction with Convivial Foodscapes, LLC. You’ll have the support of an experienced consulting team, a dedicated farm crew, and an engaged resident community while helping shape one of the country’s leading examples of community-supported agriculture.
We grow six acres of organic vegetables and fruit that are distributed to residents through a retail Farm Share program. In addition to overseeing production, we also maintain a You-Pick Garden and Farm Store for residents.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Support Farm Director in all aspects of vegetable, fruit & herb production, including but not limited to seeding, planting, pest, disease and fertility management, field cultivation, irrigation planning, installation & repairs, harvesting and post harvest handling, record keeping, upholding product, food safety standards, etc.
- Support Farm Share program
- Provide tours of the Farm Store and Farm Provide friendly customer service both in person and by phone
- Assist POA team with events as needed

Required Qualifications and Skills
Qualified candidates must be able to work in various weather conditions, stand for extended periods of time, and are required to repeatedly lift and move up to 50 lbs. This position also requires occasional evenings and weekend work 3-4 times a month.
- At least 1 year of organic vegetable production experience on a similar or larger scale
- Timely and dependable
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Enthusiasm for local and sustainable agriculture
- A problem solver with a focus on continuous improvement, who is always learning, open to feedback and takes action as required
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with farm equipment (operating a tractor, maintenance & repair)
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Compensation
- $65,000
