Join CFSA and NC A&T at the NC A&T Farm for a dynamic, hands-on field day focused on practical, organic weed management strategies for growers and agricultural professionals. This event offers a unique opportunity to learn directly from real-world demonstrations and expert guidance. During the field day, growers will experience organic weed management in action through a series of interactive stations and demonstrations designed for immediate, on-farm application.

Participants will gain in-depth, hands-on experience with a variety of effective techniques, including stale seedbed methods such as solarization, flame weeding, and mechanical control, as well as the use of plastic mulch for weed suppression and pest management. Additional highlights include row middle weed management strategies, mechanical cultivation with a range of equipment, and a BCS equipment demonstration. Tilmor will attend the field day and bring their Super E cultivating tractor and other equipment for demonstration. Attendees will also take part in a weed identification activity, explore proper hand tool use, ergonomics, and maintenance, and engage with demonstrations featuring silage tarps, cultivation tools, and specialty equipment.

  • The day begins at 9:00 AM with check-in at the pavilion, followed by welcome remarks and field tours starting at 10:00 AM. Lunch will be provided at 1:00 PM, followed by a meet-and-greet with agents and resource providers. The event will conclude by approximately 2:30 PM.
