In addition to a tour of the farm, and learning about our Farmer in Training program we’ll explore two research projects we’re excited to be a part of:

Organic Seed Production & Research (OSPREY)*
Learn about this national project, led by the Organic Seed Alliance, focused on overcoming key barriers in the organic seed industry—like the lack of reliable yield data and production protocols. We’ll also dive into seed saving and storage techniques you can take back to your farm.

Southern Piedmont Climate-Smart Project**
As part of a regenerative farming project, led by the Rodale Institute, we’re studying how vegetable farmers can improve soil health and improve upon socio-economic barriers to change using sustainable farming practices. We’ll discuss practical conservation strategies to improve your soil health and crop resilience and demonstrate equipment used in reduced-till farming.
