Your Gift in Action

Your gift to CFSA makes a lasting impact on local food systems across the Carolinas. Here’s how your gift helps:

“The guidance that we’ve gotten from the people at CFSA has been phenomenal. We got HGAP certified. We’re working on the CAP138 plan now. And all of this wouldn’t have been possible if we weren’t working with you.”
Oscar Chavez Microledon Farm owner (Conway, SC)
"The Member Advocacy Program (MAP) gave me the tools and training to effectively engage in meaningful conversations with legislators. MAP teaches one how to listen and how to be heard so that real change can begin.”
Keith Sexton United Methodist pastor and beekeeper (Roanoke Rapids, NC)
“To have the chance to pilot the first round of FarmsSHARE and go to the legislature and say this is making a real difference, and this is how we see it working in the future was pretty phenomenal.”
Dave Walker Co-Director of Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture and High Country Food Hub (Boone, NC)

Donor FAQs

Your donation to CFSA supports every corner of the local food system throughout the Carolinas. By making a gift, you’re joining a powerful movement of CFSA staff, members, supporters, and volunteers who work together toward a just and equitable food system for all.

It can be all too easy to take where your food comes from and who produces it for granted. CFSA’s work with farmers empowers you to know what’s in your food—because being organic means being fully traceable from farm to fork. We help strengthen community food security programs so more people have access to locally grown, organic food. At the end of the day, CFSA works to build more environmentally conscious food production and distribution systems that benefit you, our community, and our planet.

CFSA provides direct technical assistance, workshops, and resources to farmers on organic production and certification, conservation activity plans, food safety, high tunnel production, and accessing new market channels. We advocate for equitable and ecologically minded food and farm policies that benefit small and mid-scale sustainable farms. We also conduct on-farm research and provide educational opportunities for the next generation of farmers at our Elma C. Lomax Research and Education Farm.

CFSA’s support of farmers, food councils, food hubs, and fair food and farm policies helps increase the food security of communities across the Carolinas. Our produce donation program at Lomax Farm provides thousands of pounds of locally grown food to Concord-area community outreach organizations while our FarmsSHARE program provides a free box of locally-grown produce and protein sourced from small, sustainable farms to households in need. FarmsSHARE strengthens our regional food system by sourcing only from local farms and food hubs, which invests money back into our local food economy.

CFSA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, EIN# 24-004-0340. Your gift is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

It is the general policy of the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association that all gifts shall be presumed to be for all charitable purposes (i.e., unrestricted) unless there is an explicit restriction. This allows CFSA to apply the funds to the most pressing needs at the time of funding.
